If the day or the time of the Standard Tour is not convenient please let me know and I will do my best to arrange something more suitable for you. I can arrange a Private Tour for you that fits in with your Cruise Liners schedule, and I can also customise the length and the route of the Tour to suit your requirements.

The Upper Rock Walking Tour is a great way to visit Gibraltar's Nature Reserve. The number of participants on this Tour are intentionally kept to a minimum, so there will usually be just one or two other small groups with you. This is to ensure that you get a more personal experience, and you will get to see much more than you would have seen, had you taken a Mini Bus or the Cable Car.
My name is Stephen I am originally from the UK but now I am fortunate enough to be able to call Gibraltar my home. I have been fascinated by Gibraltar's history ever since my first visit in the early 1990's. I especially love walking around the Upper Rock and I hope to get the chance to meet you and show you a few of the attractions that Gibraltar has to offer.

The duration of the Tour is in the region of 3 - 4 hours and we proceed at a leisurely pace set by the participants as we walk up the Rock.
There will be numerous photo opportunities along the route. You will get the chance to see some stunning views and many of the historical military sites that are found in the Upper Rock.
I can take you to places that you would not usually visit if you go up by taxi or mini bus and I guarantee that you will always see some of Gibraltar’s world famous Monkeys.
The paths along the Upper Rock can be a little uneven therefore we recommend you wear suitable shoes and that you also bring along a bottle of water, because it can get quite hot in the summer months.
The current price to enter the Nature Reserve and all the attractions is £30.00 and they now insist on a Card / Contactless payment.
We do not always enter the Great Siege Tunnels or the WW2 Tunnels, however if you would like to please message me so this can be arranged. You will need to allow extra time to visit them.

Stephen was an excellent tour guide, providing the group a lot of interesting information about the peninsula. The tour included a large number of key attractions during our 3 hour walking tour, including the WW2 tunnels, St Michael's Cave and the Mediterranean Steps. The views along the trails were amazing and Stephen provided some interesting facts about the development of the area over the years. Overall it was an amazing day out and would highly recommend this to others.

Highly recommend booking with Stephen. This was the best part of my two week trip around the Spanish coast. Stephen is kind, patient, and very knowledgeable of the area to provide background and stories during the walk. He gave us options on what path to take and worked with our schedule to get back to the city center for our cruise. I think this was much better than watching others take a van up the rock and then have to wait in traffic to get back down as it was very crowded. Thank you, Stephen!

We booked direct with Stephen, who is the owner of Walk Gibraltar and received excellent communication throughout. The meeting point was easy to find and we were fortunate in that we were the only people in the group, which meant that Stephen could personalise the tour to our requirements. We are reasonably fit people in our late 50s/early 60s and found the pace acceptable. We were very pleased to have climbed to the highest point of The Rock! We would have returned to the WW2 Tunnels the following day, because there was so much to see, but decided against it because the cost to enter the nature reserve is a very steep £30 per person, which is obviously outside Stephen's control! Highly recommended!

I was recommended Stephen by my colleagues when we were speaking about travelling to Gibraltar, and I am extremely grateful for that as this tour was amazing! I booked a private tour for a reasonable price, open for negotiation and my communication with Stephen during booking was extremely clear and simple. Despite being limited by shore time from my cruise, Stephen was extremely considerate of the time restraints yet was also very attentive to our pacing based on my physical fitness. Stephen is immensely knowledgeable and an experienced and certified guide, and chatting with him during our walks between stops was a pleasure. I got my steps in with great company, and will be recommending him to all my friends and colleagues who are visiting Gibraltar! I found it much easier to visit his website directly and contact him through WhatsApp and Email, but Stephen is very responsive and can be reached through other popular mediums as well.
Can't recommend him enough, as I had a wonderful seeing the beautiful Rock with him. Really made me consider moving here, for the impression I now have of Gibraltar in part thanks to Stephen!

We highly enjoyed Stephens walking tour. Spending 3-4 hours time with him we did not only enjoy the famous spots of Gibraltar, but also learned a lot about life in Gibraltar.
Stephen was very friendly and adapted to our speed and wishes what to see or where to spent more time! The communication leading up to the tour has been very clear. We definitely would do a tour with Stephen again!

This was such a great experience! My partner and I enjoyed this even more than we thought we would. The mix of history, nature, physicality and the most amazing views, all with a fantastic guide and host in Stephen.
A moderate amount of fitness is required, and even then it is challenging, but it is also very rewarding and provides a great sense of achievement on completion. There is a mix of hills and steps, bitumen and rocks and shade and sun. We brought a 600ml water each but I would recommend taking more, at least a 1.25 litre water each. And do wear a hat and sunscreen.
We began right on time, steadily working our way up and we saw some cute monkeys after only a short while! There were many historical sites that we stopped at, and Stephen was a wealth of information at every turn. I particularly enjoyed learning about the defense history but also learning all about how Gibraltar functions today independently of the UK and Spain. It was all super interesting and the hike would not have been anywhere near as enjoyable without Stephen guiding the way and providing the backstory for all that we saw.
He also took us into St.Michaels cave and the WW2 tunnels which were so impressive.
You do pay another £30 (by card only) to gain access to the rock/nature reserve and are provided with an access wristband but it's still a great value afternoon out. There are also toilets on the route for convenience.
The views from the top were incredible!
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. It is for sure one of the absolute highlights of our trip and we will be talking about it for a long time.
Thank you so much Stephen for taking us up and showing us your amazing backyard
